Patient privacy and information storage
Medistat operates exclusively in South Africa. As a service provider to healthcare practices, it receives, stores and processes practice and patient information on its servers. Depending on the features used, this may include identity and contact details, appointments, medical-scheme and account information, questionnaires, clinical information and supporting documents.
Your practice ordinarily determines the purposes and use of its patient records. Medistat processes those records as an operator on the practice’s authorised instructions and remains subject to its applicable legal obligations. The practice retains responsibility for clinical care and professional decisions.
Portal registration is optional. Consent to information processing is separate from consent to treatment, marketing or any waiver of statutory rights. Contact your practice for an alternative means of providing information, to request access or correction, or to withdraw consent for future processing that relies on it. Processing permitted on another lawful basis and applicable recordkeeping obligations may continue.
Your sign-in session is retained in the current tab’s memory. Refreshing or closing the tab ends the session; it does not delete records held by Medistat or your practice. Protect downloaded documents and sign out on shared devices.

Patient portal help
Change an appointment
Open Appointments to confirm, cancel or choose a new time for an eligible visit. The practice applies its availability and cancellation rules. Use Add to calendar to download the visit to your calendar app.
Forms and feedback
Complete the questionnaires requested by your practice. Save a draft to continue later. A returned form includes a correction note. Questionnaire acknowledgement is separate from formal treatment consent.
Sign-in or connection help
Ask your practice administrator for access or password assistance. Live sign-in needs the practice service to be available. Use Open test patient to explore with fictional records.
