Use these guides for the patient portal and doctor browser workspace. The Medistat programme provides the wider reception, clinical, billing and administration workflows. Browser access depends on account permissions, practice links and an available practice service.
For patients
Open Patient Login and use your linked patient account.
To activate access, select Use invitation and enter the code supplied by your practice.
Choose your practice and view its appointments and requested forms.
For eligible visits, confirm, cancel, change the time, or download a calendar file. Your practice applies its scheduling rules.
Save questionnaire drafts, then complete the required answers and acknowledgement before submission.
Open Doctor Login with an authorised doctor account linked to a practice. This browser entry does not provide general reception or administrator sign-in.
Use Overview for a summary of the currently loaded diary and forms.
Find a patient under Patient records or open one from the diary.
Check the patient context before working with documents, forms, clinical records or quotations.
Use Preparation & tasks for inbox, follow-up, pre-visit and imaging worklists that your role can access.
Manage staff roles, linked doctors/practices, financial access, communication providers and service configuration in the Medistat programme. My access in the browser shows the permissions returned for the signed-in account.
Browser features may be unavailable when a service is disconnected or the account lacks permission. An empty result and a connection error have different meanings.
Appointments and forms
Times are displayed in South African time. The practice service validates booking times and diary rules when you submit. Checking a time does not reserve it; check the saved appointment and its returned status. A calendar download is a copy; changes in your personal calendar do not change your Medistat appointment.
Questionnaires are preparation documents. A reviewed questionnaire is not clinical clearance or formal treatment/anaesthetic consent. Complete formal consent through your clinician's process.
In this browser release, live questionnaire requests use the supported checked-in patient workflow. The doctor demo also illustrates a request from patient search before arrival; that demonstration does not establish live pre-visit availability.
Documents and clinical work
Use document page controls to find older records. PDF, PNG, JPEG and text previews are supported; download other formats to their normal application.
Browser clinical notes save through the practice service for the selected patient when permissions allow. The Medistat programme provides the wider clinical workflow, including supported speech-to-text dictation. Letter drafts are unsigned text downloads; they are not sent or added to the clinical record. Final correspondence, amendments and signing remain in Medistat.
Accounts and communications
Quotations and the report catalogue are available to authorised staff. Use Medistat for report exports, statements, billing, payments and final financial actions.
Notifications and appointment delivery status are shown when returned by your practice service. Configure and send email, SMS or WhatsApp through Medistat. No messages are sent automatically by browsing these pages.
Common questions
Does the website include every Medistat programme feature?
No. The homepage feature overview describes the Medistat programme. The browser provides selected patient and doctor tools. Use the programme for the final billing, payment, report-export, correspondence and administration workflows described in these guides. Available features depend on your installed version, permissions and connected services.
Who should I contact for help?
For Medistat software enquiries, call 011 854 8012 or email info@medistat.co.za. Contact your healthcare practice for appointment changes, invitation codes, patient account questions and medical advice. Please do not send passwords or medical records in an initial support email.
Where can I read the privacy and POPIA information?
Read the website Privacy & POPIA notice for privacy contacts, patient-record responsibilities and official rights-request resources. Your practice provides its own patient privacy notice.
Will a saved demo draft remain after I reload?
No. Demo drafts and changes remain in the current tab only. Reloading resets the fictional demo. Do not enter real patient information. In a live account, use Save draft and check the confirmation before closing a form.
I still see an older homepage
Use https://www.medistat.co.za/ including www. In Edge or Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + R for a fresh reload. A saved bookmark may open an older path; compare its full address.
I forgot my password or invitation code
Ask your practice administrator to reset access. Patients can request a replacement invitation code using the invitation page where available. Do not share passwords or invitation codes in screenshots.
What happens when I sign out?
The portal removes the tab's session and displayed patient information. The browser does not store login tokens or drafts in local storage. Downloaded documents remain on your device. Sign out on shared devices.
Where can I get appointment or medical help?
Contact your healthcare practice directly for appointments, account questions, clinical advice or assistance. This website is not monitored as an emergency contact channel.
